Chapter 2- Chin Strap And How I Stopped Snoring

After testing the nasal strips in the last chapter and finding it to be quite helpful for some, I decided to move on and test another aid in my journey to stop snoring. In the last two weeks I bought a pair of chin straps and I used them every night. I gave one chin strap to my mother to see get another opinion.

Anyway, I found this stop snoring chin strap to be nice. I stopped snoring, completely. No snoring on the tape and no complaints from my wife. I thought I’m dreaming, but I it was the same, day after day. My wife told me there were occasional “whistles”, but no snoring and I’m more than happy with the results.

Now I’m proud to say- My name is Dan, I’m a 42 old frustrated happy man. I love my wife, I love my life, I love my kids- and yeah, I don’t snore anymore, don’t know about you. I’m kidding, but I feel so good about it. After ten long years, finally, I stopped snoring and all in needed is one freaking chin strap. It was well worth the money and even more, because I don’t have to buy them all the time, it’s a onetime purchase, unlike the nose strips.

How does a chin strap works?

When the jaw opens and the tongue falls into the back of the throat, the airway narrows forcing air through the small opening. This creates vibrations in the throat known as snoring.

The chin strap is actually a jaw supporter. The chin strap can hold the lower jaw in a position so that it will not fall backwards/down during the night and cause the airway to collapse. Maintaining a clear airway improves breathing and reduces snoring. Simple ha?

What am I going to do now?

I began this journey 4 weeks ago and I tested only 2 aids so far: the nasal strips and the chin straps. I can honestly say “Mission Complete”, but it is not, not yet. I promised myself I will test every single possible solution out there and I will. Testing a wide range of products can benefit me in many ways. I might find a cheaper solution. I can’t say the chin strap is a good looking aid, but it works and that is all I care about. If I’ll find another good aid, that’s doing the work as good as the chin strap and have an esthetical advantage, sure, I’ll grab it with both hands. Till then, who sees me sleeping anyway?

Final words

To sum it up, the chin strap works and it works great. I stopped snoring and I feel great. My wife sleeps with me again and I’ll leave the rest for your imagination.

I bought this for my hubby to try while he snores loudly and wakes me up. It keeps his mouth shut however the air being released from his lips makes horrible whistling and blowing sounds. That’s worse compared to snoring. The organization seals them up there are no returns so make sure to like it, you can’t check it out without wasting $20.

In my opinion it’s very poorly designed. with no back strap the one thing crawls forward for the forehead. But, obtaining the back strap on right doesn’t seem possible. I discover that my hair is stuck out of all velcro and it is an excessive amount of a challenge to really get the darn thing on, tight enough although not too tight. I wind up flinging it over the bedroom, in which the dogs provide a sniff and wisely ignore it.

I like the idea of the natural way you showed in this post. going to try it now and I’ll be back to report soon.

Snoring Wife

I am a 27 year old wife that snores loudly. Not only is my husband a light sleeper but my job is attending a conference and to save money we are sharing rooms. I am soo not looking forward to it. I
dont want to disturb the sleep of my coworker. It will surely be an embarrassing situation. My husband has purchased earbuds. (He could still hear me) We have tried nasal strips. (Didn’t work) I have purchased the pure sleep mouth piece. (Didnt work) I am running out of options. I dont know what to do. Snoring is affecting my life and my marriage. We have been researching, only to come to the conclusion that these sites are just gimmicks. (sigh) I came across your post and holding on to hope that this issue can be resolved. I will be ordering the chin strap today from mysnoringsolutions. I really hope it works. If it doesnt, then I will try the ereader book you suggested. I pray that one of these solutions work. We cant offered a sleep study to get the cpap machine. So I really hope one of these options work. Thanks so much for your helpful information. I will keep you posted on the outcome of the chin strap and the book.
